What I Do Best

Well This is what I do best. Graphite and Pen drawings. I have yet to do anything recently so what you see is old stuff from School projects.

This Drawing is a self portrait done from a photograph taken by Michael Eldredge of Living Fiction Media. I had done some modeling for Living Fiction for about two years. This is from one of the photoshoots.

This is a Still Life study of a paper bag... yeah this took me a while but I am satisfied with the results. This was a whole semester study - a kind of final project that took each of us in the class the entire semester to complete. I really enjoy taking my time with my drawings and I don't like the short deadlines that school usually inflicts upon the art students. So this was a pleasant change of pace. Anyway - I would appreciate any criticism of my art. As an artist I am always looking for ways to improve. Thanks!

More Pottery Pics

This is one of the many Frog designs I played around with....zoom would be appropriate for this pic.

These are pics of a Mortal and Pestal that i made. The Pestel does not have it's handle yet (of course).

The geko was an impulse thing - But I wanted to play with the positive/negative space idea so this is what i came up with.

This is a Sushi plate i made for my husband. He LOVES Sushi. The symbols mean trustworthy, eternal, love, husband.... or something like that. And not in that order.

Some new rife bowls I painted for Kurt and I, The symbol inside means "dream"..... because my husband is a true blooded dreamer :)

My dad makes great cookies but the unfortunate result of such an achievement is that he finds little left but crumbs shortly after his labored efforts. So I made him his own cookie jar :)

old stuff

this is kurt's one and only attempt so far to paint pottery. (Kurt is my husbad) he repainted this one for obvious reaons. It is his icecream/cereal bowl. Since this is all he eats he uses this bowl often.

This was my first time painting pottery - hence the brush strokes. Dont worry, i repainted it and its perfect now.

Pottery Painting

About a year ago i discovered a place that allows one to paint the pottery of one's choice and they will fire it for you. They even let me use their paints and tools!! By devine inspiration a bright couple decided to open one such place here in Lexington VA this past April , Creative Kiln. I have been supporting their business with my frequent visits ever since I found them. Since this obsession has begun i have not done much of anything else as art is concerned. But i may have found a way to turn this hobbie into some profit though. I have had some requests to sell my work and Jon, the business owner has agreed to display my creations at the Kiln :) The Cheetah plate you see in the first picture is a duplicate design that i have put on a large square plate and a wide rimmed mug to make a complete set. The design was originally developed as a logo for one of my husband's businesses but they thought it was too trendy for a financial firm and money lender. oh well. I'll stick to painting my pottery.
